About gamers and minorities.


Just installed Fallout 4. Serious rant incoming.

I like my cRPG games made so they resonate with me. You know, programmed with the thought of the player who actually plays them.

It is 2015 and gaming industry is still completely blind to a large minority of gamers. Those gamers would also like to play Fallout 4 or Witcher 2 (haven't tried Witcher 3), or even Guild Wars, without feeling that they are utterly not needed in the gaming community. Those gamers would like to try out sci-fi games like Elite: Dangerous without being jealous of the majority of players who feel at home in this game.

This minority that I belong to encompasses approximately 15% of players. I mean, it's a susbtantial percentage to think of, and still the gaming industry has to recognize their presence. Most of the time, it's like they do not exist, and if the game has features that appeal to them, it's usually by accident.

As you probably have guessed, I am writing about left handed people.

Damn it, gaming industry. Damn it!

    Yeah, but are there many left-handed people who are actually attached to left-handedness as an important part of their identities? And how much systematic oppression is there against left-handed people in social life?

      Well, other minorities' lifes are throroughly shitty. I find it funny that there is one little aspect where mine is shittier.
      Also, mouse cables at lab computers are too short.
